Our three Youth Support Coordinators (YSC's) offer wellbeing and engagement support to the whole school and offer individual check ins, safety planning, support with friendship concerns, school related issues and attendance, personal concerns, homelessness and housing, family conflict or changes, barriers to school and independent living.
Our Youth Support Coordinators are:
- Junior Afu (Year 8 and 9)
- Adam Flier (Year 10 and 11)
- Chloe Dittmar (Year 7 and 12)
Wellbeing Group Programs
The Wellbeing Team offer a range of group Wellbeing Programs for students. Students are recommended by staff or can self-refer to the programs by speaking to a member of the Wellbeing Team at the Youth Hub.
- RAGE – Renegotiating Angry and Guilty Emotions. RAGE is a strength based, solution focused anger management course that helps students deal with the most misunderstood human emotion, anger.
- Rock and Water Program. Rock and Water is a 5 week program that focuses on Anger management, respectful interactions, healthy mind and body.
- Life Program. Life teaches students about Healthy habits, Strong minds, Emotional regulation, staying connected and mindfulness and team building activities.
- Art Therapy. Run by Vlinder Expressive Arts, students participate in small groups to explore deep feelings, resilience building, self-expression and emotional intelligence using creative processes.
- Shine. Organised by our Chaplain. Shine is a girls program focusing on improving resilience, self-esteem and confidence.
- Pacific Waves. Organised by our Youth Support Coordinators and Chaplain. Pacific Waves is a Cultural group for students with a Pacifica cultural background. Students meet once a week and learn about various cultures.
- CHAMP Students go to PCYC Nerang once a week and participate in a boxing and mentoring program.
- Little Dreamers Young carers support group.
- Seasons for Growth. This grief and loss educational program provide students to share their experience of change and loss through the metaphor of the seasons; building personal resilience, coping and social skills.
- Chilled: Chilled (Cool Kids) is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy focussed on managing anxiety. The 10 session program focuses on learning about feels and anxiety, learning to think more realistically, fighting fear and learning other coping skills.
