This means that students are required to bring their own laptop to school each day. The laptop will need to be able to connect to the school network and the Internet.


Both Microsoft Office 365 and the software needed to connect your device to the network is free.

IT offering

Our experienced IT Team can assist students with: Access to school network (Teachers are also equipped to - assist with password resets if required), Onboarding and troubleshooting BYOx devices, School provided online systems e.g. Oneschool, Dapmap.

Insurance

We strongly recommend that all personal electronic devices are insured against accidental damage, loss and theft. You can either: include the iPad on your home and contents insurance contact an insurer that offers specific student device cover products.

Breakages and repairs

Basic problem solving and device support will be provided by the school. Parents as owners of the device are responsible for breakages and damage. Parents should counsel their children about the proper use and care of the device to reduce potential breakages. Parents are advised to take out insurance or adjust their current insurance policy to ensure that the laptop is covered at school for damage, loss and breakages.

Res​ponsibilities of the school

Provide suitable school Wi-Fi connection and internet filtering system. Provide a blended educational environment. Model safe device and internet practices. Provide access to printer services.

Res​ponsibilities of Parents

Maintenance of device. Purchase, install and update applications. Appropriate insurance and warranty. Log warranty claims and organise repairs.

Res​ponsibilities of the student

Bring device fully charged each day. Show respect for other devices, work and privacy. Access technology as a responsible user. Backup.
