The Centre of Excellence for Business, Leadership & Enterprise (for Year 9 and 10 students only) was established to extend, engage and excite students in all areas of business. This program extends students in all areas of business, leadership and enterprise, while providing the tools required to excel in these areas.
With the workforce continually reshaping, these skills enable students to actively engage in all levels of business and meet the everchanging demands of the 21st Century. Our students will acquire the skills highly sought after by organisations which will ensure lasting employability once they are ready for the ‘real world’. Our curriculum areas prepare students for further study and employment, as well as lifelong learning and civic participation.
Unique program elements of Business, Leadership & Enterprise
Students in this program are provided with hands on, real world activities such as:

- Participating in excursions e.g. EKKA.
- Be Your Own Boss Challenge.

Topics covered throughout the program include event management, finance management, marketing, corporate responsibility and community, and entrepreneurship, as well as student driven topics.
Current achievements and pathways
This program provides students with the knowledge and skills to choose Senior School General subjects such as Business and/or Accounting, which prepare students for post secondary education study at University or TAFE. This program also prepares students with the required skills to complete a certificate course, such as Certificate III in Business, Certificate III in Active Volunteering or the Diploma of Business, which are an excellent entry point for the workforce.
Just some of our achievements include:
- Working with local charities, including Adopt-a-Grandparent, K-Mart Wishtree, Dignity Project, Rosie’s, and Kiwanis Breakfast Club.
- Raised more than $2,000 in profit each year, through Market Day and other business ventures, for the Schoolbag Project (providing schoolbags and uniforms to those in need).
- 2nd place in the Young Change Agents Gold Coast Climate Action Design Challenge.
- Representatives on the ‘Empowering Girls’ forum.
- Strong development of leadership capabilities, with many students emerging to become student leaders in their senior years.
