Current Year 7 - 10 Pacific Pines State High School students are invited to apply for the following programs:

A Year 7 student can only be in a maximum of three (3) programs.
A Year 8 student can be in a maximum of four (4) programs. This can only be one (1) program, per column, in the table above.
Year 9 2025 students will now be allowed to be in two (2) Elective C programs. If students in Year 8 2024 are currently in one (1) Elective C program, they may apply for the second program in this category, in the round of current student applications closing Thursday 15 August 2024.

Application forms are processed at set times throughout the year. Application forms submitted outside these times are kept on file and processed at a later stage.

Please note that students applying for a program in the Creative Industries, Enterprise or Sport categories will be required to attend a trial/audition, the details of this will be communicated by a teacher to a student via email.
Application requirements
A student applying for a CoE program must meet the following requirements:
- Attendance of 92% or above.
- No more than 2 behaviour incidents recorded on OneSchool.
- Minimum C Level of Achievement (LOA) for all subjects.
- Minimum B LOA for English, if student is applying for English, Literature and Media.
- Minimum B LOA for Science and Mathematics, if student is applying for STEM- Science & Mathematics.
- Minimum ‘Satisfactory’ Effort for all subjects on their report cards.
- ‘Very good’ or ‘Excellent’ for Effort, on their report cards, for CoE programs they are currently in.
- Participation in, and payment made/ functioning payment plan in place for SRS fees, and other Centre of Excellence fees if applicable.
* Exceptions are made on a case by case basis.
* Acceptance into the Excellence programs is conditional on numbers, staffing and timetabling.
* Both the English, Literature & Media (ELM) and STEM-Mathematics & Science programs are rigorous.
Conditions
Upon acceptance into one or more CoE programs, an agreement is required from both the student and parent/carer to uphold the conditions of the ‘Centre of Excellence Student Agreement Contract’ which is provided post acceptance.
It includes:
- Minimum C Level of Achievement (LOA) for all subjects.
- Minimum B LOA for English, Literature & Media.
- Minimum B LOA for STEM- Science & Mathematics.
- ‘Very good’ or ‘Excellent’ Effort, for all CoE programs, on their report cards.
- Minimum ‘Satisfactory’ Effort, for all subjects that are not part of the CoE, on their report cards.
- No more than 2 behaviour incident reports on OneSchool.
- No suspension.
- Attendance remains 92% or above.
- Participation in, and payment for, the Student Resource Scheme (SRS) and Excellence program fee/s.
- Accept that my student will receive an adapted version of the Australian Curriculum due to their enrolment in Centre of Excellence program/s.
Centre of Excellence student expectations
Once a student starts at Pacific Pines State High School, the following requirements included in the 'Centre of Excellence Student Agreement Contract' must be met to maintain their position in the Centre of Excellence program/s:
- Minimum C Level of Achievement (LOA) for all subjects.
- Minimum B LOA for English, Literature & Media.
- Minimum B LOA for STEM- Science & Mathematics.
- ‘Very good’ or ‘Excellent’ Effort, for all CoE programs, on their report cards.
- Minimum ‘Satisfactory’ Effort, for all subjects that are not part of the CoE, on their report cards.
- No more than 2 behaviour incident reports on OneSchool.
- No suspension.
- Attendance remains 92% or above.
If a student does not meet these expectations, they may be placed on Academic or Behaviour probation. If a student does not pass this probation, their enrolment in Centre of Excellence program/s may be cancelled. A student whose enrolment in Centre of Excellence is cancelled cannot reapply for six (6) months, during which an improvement in their data must be evident.
In most cases, the student's position is backfilled by another student on the waitlist. If a reapplication is successful after the six (6) months, the student may be placed in the program if space is available, or added to a waitlist.
