The Centre of Excellence for STEM - Science & Mathematics is a specialised program for high achieving Science and Mathematics students. Students develop the tools to excel in STEM based activities and integrate their passion into their learning environment. This program focuses on developing the skillset required to be highly effective problem solvers and critical thinkers. The program aims to extend student’s methods of scientific thinking, and knowledge of and skillset in Engineering, through a collaborative project each term.
Unique program elements of STEM - Science & Mathematics
This program provides students the opportunity to engage and extend their knowledge in Mathematics and Science, with elements of Engineering to solve real world problems.
They will use a combination of Mathematics, Science and Engineering to propel their understanding of the subject, and to engage in a unique enrichment program each year centering around design, robotics, global sustainability goals and leadership. Furthermore, they will participate in a number of competitions such as the QAMT Maths Competition, Gold Coast Science Competition, and Tournament of the Minds, as well as being exposed to numerous external enrichment activities.
