Academia - STEM - Technology

The Centre of Excellence for STEM - Technology was established to provide students with the skills required to succeed in the 21st Century. It is said that a large percentage of jobs that will exist in 2035 have not yet been invented. This program aims to foster, enhance and progress many of the characteristics required for students to be successful in their future. Throughout the course, students will be investigating aspects of both Digital technology and Design technology.

Unique program elements of STEM - Technology

In this program, students can look forward to using programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Autodesk Inventor, 3D printers, Arduino, vinyl and laser cutters.

Students can look forward to developing:
  • Foundational PC skills.
  • Hardware and programming. 
  • Understanding data analysis skills.
  • Gaming, web design and app development. 
  • Designing and printing 3D models.
  • Making control and automated mechanisms using Arduino circuits boards and programming.
  • Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) understanding.

Current achievements and pathways

This program provides students with the knowledge and skills to choose Senior School General subjects, such as Digital Solutions, that prepare students for post-secondary education study at University or TAFE.

STEM - Technology pathways include:
  • Computer support.
  • Software development.
  • Web development.
  • Data systems.
  • Cloud computing.
  • Architecture.
  • Graphic design.
  • Digital media design.
  • Applications engineer - 3D printing.
  • CAD/CAM Engineer.
  • Engineer – Aerospace / Mechanical / Mechatronics.​​
